Covid Screening at the door!
Covid proyección en la puerta!
On June 24, 2020, Governor Sisolak signed a new directive 024, mandating everyone in Nevada to wear a face covering while in public. The directive is specific of when it is acceptable not to wear a face covering. “Persons who are obtaining services involving the nose or face for which temporary removal of the face covering is necessary to perform the service.”
What does this mean to the Barberschool?
Everyone in the Barberschool MUST wear a face covering at all times while in the Barberschool. The only exception to this rule is that the client
may temporarily take the face covering off if getting a shave, facial, beard service, or mustache service. Those are the only exceptions!
If the client is getting a haircut and any facial service, the client must wear the face covering during the haircut. The client may only take off the face covering for the facial service and then must put the face covering back on immediately following the service.
For the Barber’s own protection, it is not mandatory but suggested while the client has his mask off for a facial service, you should wear a face shield over your face along with the face mask.
As it has been, there is NO waiting in the Barberschool for services. The only people allowed in the Barberschool are individuals receiving services.
Individuals waiting for services will need to wait in their cars or outside until the Barber is ready to seat them in their barber chair.
Please follow all directives from our Governor Steve Sisolak, as things change all the time.
Be safe, and remember:

All Services rendered and work done by Students under the supervision of License Instructors
All barbers must be licensed by their state in order to work. Upon completing a state-approved program, in Nevada, students are eligible to take the state licensing exam, which consists of a written exam, a practical exam and an oral exam. Some states, aspiring barbers can work as apprentices to meet the requirements for licensure. Under the supervision of a licensed cosmetologist or barber, students will train to become professionals and prepare for the licensure examination.
Barber school curriculum covers such basics as haircutting, hairstyling, shaving and beard trimming. Students are also trained in beard design, hair piece fitting and hair coloring. In addition to learning how to apply chemical treatments, students learn about detecting scalp and hair diseases. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), every state mandates that a barber must complete barber school and become licensed in order to practice in that state. If you don’t go to school to undergo the necessary training in barbering, you cannot legitimately work in this field. Be advised every state has slightly different requirements, so read up on yours before doing anything else!
The first one hundred fifty (150) hours must be devoted to instruction in the theoretical aspects of all content areas. Practical instruction can be included in this first one hundred fifty (150) hours but supervised practice on a clinic floor cannot.
The remaining eight hundred fifty (850) hours are to be devoted to supervised practice integrated with ongoing theoretical and practical instruction.

Used by applying it to wet hair, the massaging of the scalp and as well as the rinsing of the hair are the most important part not only to the shampoo, but the haircut following. The best haircut comes from clean hair.
Before you can actually cut a person's hair, you must first determine if that haircut or hairstyle will in fact fit the person's look. You can get that assessment from looking at their head and facial shape.
Lay back, relax, and enjoy a real straight razor shave. Indulge yourself as a steady stream of steam and hot-towels soften and warm your beard. We use the best pre-shave oil & lather to soften and moisturize your skin & hair.
Tonics make the hair look glossier, which is viewed by many people as a sign of healthy hair. They help hold the hair in place, making it easier to style. This type of massage helps to stimulate blood circulation to the hair follicles, while the tonic moisturizes and conditions the hair and scalp
A family of skin care treatments for the face, including steam, exfoliation, extraction, creams, lotions, facial masks, peels, and massage
After a haircut, but before you show them the mirror, how do you style the hair? A little oil sheen? Some gel or pomade maybe? Understand that you are not only cutting that person's hair and your done! Your job is to show the client that you can not only cut their hair, but you can show them how to wear it as well

The biggest difference between barber school and cosmetology school is that barber programs focus on men's hair and facial hair. The programs are more specifically geared towards learning to cut, trim and style men's hair and work on facial hair, including providing shaving services. Barber School is the only place where you get Razor Certification
You , by law, are not suppose to be cutting hair without a license at all. Many barbers that are not cutting hair in an actual barbershop are unlicensed. If you are found working without a license, it will result in a fine. While you are in Barber School you are required to do many services. Those would be good services to do in school so you can receive credit for said services
You are required to bring a model with sufficient hair to the state board test to become a barber. While in school there will be a base of patrons that come to the school, but once again this is your responsibility to bring people to service to get your services. This is another one of the reasons of why you shouldn't be cutting hair outside of school. You cut people outside of school, but can't cut hair where you need to have the service counted
Barbering brings a lot of benefits—you can make great money, the job security is next level (c'mon, people will always need their hair taken care of), there's lots of customer interaction, and you get to tap into both your creative and business savvy sides. Plus, you're likely going to be in demand.
Your contribution will enable us to support our students and employees to continue operations. We are a fairly new non profit organization. We are very grateful for your generosity. Thank you in advance
